State Rep. William Bruck, R-Erie, will serve on two policy committees in the Michigan House during the 2023-24 legislative session.

The Speaker of the House recently appointed Bruck to the Insurance and Financial Services Committee and the Transportation, Mobility, and Infrastructure Committee.

“I’m looking forward to getting to work on these important issues,” Bruck said. “Our roads and infrastructure affect the day-to-day lives of everyone in our community, and the impact Michigan’s laws have on the cost of car insurance is something the people of Monroe and Lenawee counties are very familiar with.”

The Transportation, Mobility, and Infrastructure Committee handles issues relating to federal, state and local road networks as well as aviation, rail and maritime infrastructure. The committee also is responsible for many aspects of the Motor Vehicle Code and how the state licenses and sets rules related to motor vehicles and other road users.

The Insurance and Financial Services Committee deliberates on various issues related to insurance, including private health, Medicare/Medicaid, and automobile insurance. It also is responsible for handling issues such as the regulation of banks, credit unions, payday lenders, and mortgage lenders.
